Our Dental Technology
Every room in our office is equipped with a computer monitor so you can learn, along with us, about your teeth and smile. With our digital smile camera we can look at your cosmetic possibilities together. With our dental imaging software we can create a sneak-preview of what your teeth might look like after a transformation. With our chair side intra-oral camera we will get a close-up look at both your individual teeth and gum health. Our digital x-rays instantly show your x-rays and the laser diagnodent is a cavity detecting light that accurately detects decay in pits and fissures of teeth. During our TMJ examination (for people with jaw joint difficulties) we use our ultrasound doppler to hear each of your TMJ sounds. We are also committed to providing you with up-to-date information and educational tools so that you may fully participate in maintaining optimum oral health. No matter what your dental conditions are we will personalize our examination and help you choose among your treatment options for solutions that are just right for you!
We know that confidence about your smile affects how you feel about yourself personally and professionally.
Intra-Oral Camera
A picture is worth a thousand words. That is never so true as when you are in the dental chair.
An intraoral camera is about the size of a dental mirror. It projects a magnified image onto a computer monitor right in front of your dental chair. The camera serves us in two ways. First it helps with diagnosis, identifying details that are obscure by our vision alone—conditions such as tooth wear, cracks, or inflammation. Second, looking at a picture sure helps you understand your conditions.
Digital X-rays
We offer one of the latest technological advances in dentistry with digital radiography (x-rays). A wireless sensor is placed in the mouth, and a computer generates an image, right before your eyes. The image appears in 3-5 seconds as opposed to the general 4-6 minute wait time for images taken on dental film. These x-rays can also be enlarged and enhanced for accurate diagnosis.
Here’s the best part! Not only are digital x-rays friendly to the environment, they are much safer than traditional x-rays. Digital radiographs reduce radiation exposure by 90 percent, and are much faster and comfortable.
